1. The proper order of the Studer books is problematic. Books were serialized
and rewritten; authorities give different dates, depending on whether they
refer to the manuscript date, the beginning or end of serialization, or
book publication, e.g., Chinaman in 1938 or 1939, and The
Spoke (AKA Krock & Co.)
in 1936, 1937, or 1941. We list the titles in the order they were written,
based in part on information supplied by Bitter Lemon Press whose English
editions are based on the Limmat Verlag (Zurich) editions.
